Beginning his airline career with Alaska Airlines in Anchorage in 1997, this candidate has dedicated nearly three decades to the airline industry and more than 15 years to union leadership and representation. His journey began as a Ramp Shop Steward in the mid-2000s and continued through elected leadership positions, including Shop Committee Member, Shop Committee Chair, District 142 Vice President for Alaska Airlines, and ultimately General Chair in 2022.
As Shop Committee Chair from 2012 to 2022, he represented the Anchorage RSSA workgroup and eight remote stations throughout Alaska. This unique responsibility reinforced his commitment to ensuring every member had a voice and received meaningful representation, regardless of location.
His experience includes serving on the 2019 COPS/RSSA Negotiations Committee, as District 142 Safety Representative to Alaska Airlines, on the Alaska Airlines ERC/GSAP Board, and as part of the Air Transport JATSC team.
Since becoming General Chair, he has helped secure the latest Alaska Airlines CBA extension, successfully negotiated two McGee Air Services CBAs, and worked toward a strong agreement for Air Wisconsin members. He currently represents members in negotiations involving Menzies fuelers in Chicago and newly organized Swissport Ramp and Fleet agents in Phoenix. He also continues to fight for members through grievances, GRB proceedings, and arbitration.
A strong believer in education and continuous development, he has completed extensive leadership, organizing, negotiations, arbitration, contract education, safety, and steward training through W3 and other District programs.
After more than four years as General Chair, he believes the progress made is only the beginning. He is committed to building on those accomplishments, strengthening representation across every property, and ensuring that Ramp, Fleet, Customer Service, Fueler, and Mechanic members receive the support they deserve.
He believes effective leadership starts with understanding that there is always more to learn, especially from the very members we represent. His commitment remains to serve, represent, protect, educate, and strengthen the membership of District 142.
As part of the Forward Together District Slate, he is ready to continue building on the work already accomplished and move the District forward together.
This is what change looks like.
