Starting his airline career in 1996 as a Ramp Service Agent for Alaska Airlines in Juneau, Brian began his journey in the labor movement shortly after graduating high school. Coming from a background with no union experience, he quickly discovered the value of collective representation and the strength members have when they stand together.
Wanting to understand his rights and the contract firsthand, Brian became a Shop Steward in 2000. That decision launched a career of dedicated union service, including roles on the Shop Committee, Vice President of Local Lodge 2202, and District 142 Safety Representative.
Throughout his years of service, Brian has gained extensive negotiating experience, serving on multiple negotiating committees representing members at Alaska Airlines, McGee Air Services, and several of the District’s smaller service contracts. These experiences have given him a broad understanding of the challenges facing members across different properties and the importance of strong, informed representation.
Brian is running for District 142 General Chair because he believes every member deserves a fair voice, honest representation, and to be treated as a person rather than just a number. He is passionate about improving working conditions, strengthening contracts, and improving the quality of life for the membership.
Known for his straightforward approach, Brian believes in honesty, transparency, and getting to the point. He believes leadership means listening, understanding the issues, being upfront with members, and working together toward meaningful solutions—not simply telling people what they want to hear.
As part of the Forward Together District Slate, Brian is ready to put his experience, relationships, and commitment to work building a stronger District where every member has a voice and every Local has the support it deserves.
This is what change looks like.
