April Butler began her Southwest Airlines career in 1987 as a Customer Service Agent at BHM. As a third-generation union member, she learned early the importance of standing together and protecting working people’s rights.

April has dedicated 38 of her 39 years at Southwest to union service, including serving as a Shop Steward and General Chairperson. She has also served IAM Local Lodge 154 as Recording Secretary and President while remaining active in member representation.

Her commitment to education and leadership includes serving on the C.R.E.S.T. Trainers team at the International. April understands that strong representation requires listening to members, knowing the contract, being present, and having the courage to advocate.

As part of the Forward Together slate, April brings nearly four decades of frontline airline experience and union service. She is committed to strengthening representation, supporting Shop Stewards, educating members, and ensuring every member has a voice.
