Barbara Perry is a dedicated union advocate who believes members deserve leadership that is visible, accessible, and ready to turn their concerns into meaningful action. As a Southwest Airlines Customer Service Agent and Shop Steward with three years of frontline experience, Barbara understands the challenges members face because she works alongside them every day.
Barbara currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer of IAM Local 949 and as a delegate to the Missouri State Council of Machinists. Through these roles, she has strengthened her commitment to accountability, transparency, communication, and determined representation.
As a candidate for Vice President of Southwest Airlines on the Forward Together slate, Barbara is committed to being present where members work. She will prioritize visiting stations, listening directly to employees, responding to concerns, and ensuring Shop Stewards have the time, resources, and support necessary to effectively represent the membership.
Barbara believes union leadership must be more than promises. It must be present, responsive, accountable, and willing to act. Her focus is on strengthening communication throughout the system, bringing members together, demanding fairness, and ensuring that no member feels unheard, overlooked, or left behind.
