A proud member of IAM District 142, Local Lodge 1979 in Honolulu, this Hawaiian Airlines leader has built a career around frontline experience, union education, and standing up for fellow members. Joining Hawaiian Airlines in 2018 as a Ramp Agent, they advanced to Chief Ramp Agent and have served as a Chief longer than they were an Agent, giving them a firsthand understanding of the work and the challenges faced by ramp employees.
He’s interest in union representation began early in their career, driven by a desire to understand the contract, know where the boundaries are, and help members understand how to use their rights and protections to their advantage. In 2020, he became a Shop Steward with a clear goal: challenge the culture of “see something, say nothing” by encouraging members to speak up and understand their rights.
Through honesty, passion, integrity, and a commitment to educating he’s peers, he has earned the respect of fellow members. In 2024, they were elected to the Grievance Committee, where he’s worked alongside their counterparts to successfully assist members throughout their departments. That experience has reinforced their belief that knowledge is power and that informed members are stronger members.
Now, as a candidate for Trustee on the Forward Together slate, they are ready to bring that same commitment to District 142. They believe serving at the District level is an opportunity to further empower members, strengthen education, promote accountability, and help IAM members succeed in their careers.
Join the Forward Together slate. Stand with your coworkers. Stand for education, accountability, and stronger representation across District 142.
This is what change looks like.
