Christopher Torres is a longtime aviation professional, labor advocate, and union leader with more than 20 years of experience across the airline and aviation industry. He currently serves as the Legislative Chair for IAM Local 2210 and as a Union Representative for IAM District 142 under the Alaska Airlines contract, where he works to represent frontline employees and advocate for stronger workplace protections, fair treatment, safety, and better working conditions.

Throughout his aviation career, Christopher has gained experience in airline operations, customer service, ramp operations, leadership, maintenance-related operations, FBOs, cargo, and other areas of the aviation industry. That broad operational background has given him a firsthand understanding of the challenges frontline aviation workers face every day—and the importance of having knowledgeable, engaged representation in their corner.

As Legislative Chair, Christopher has taken an active role in labor advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels, meeting with elected officials and advocating for legislation that protects workers’ rights, strengthens good-paying jobs, improves workplace conditions, and supports working families. He believes union representation cannot stop at the workplace door; workers deserve a voice wherever decisions are being made that impact their livelihoods and future.

Christopher believes strong unions are built through communication, education, organization, and member involvement. His focus is on strengthening the connection between members and their union, developing the next generation of labor leaders, increasing participation, and making sure every member has a meaningful voice.

Christopher is running for General Chair as part of the Forward Together slate because he believes District 142 needs leadership that is present, engaged, accountable, and willing to fight for its members. He is committed to bringing frontline experience, legislative advocacy, and a member-first approach to District leadership.
